PowerNotes is a software tool for managing and organizing your research. Sign up here with your law school email address and install the Chrome or Firefox extension. You can find a getting started guide and other resources here.

Gavel

Gavel (formerly Documate) is a legal-specific document automation and app-building platform. No coding knowledge is necessary. While law students at any school can sign up for free basic accounts here, BYU Law currently subscribes to more advanced features. Please contact nick.hafen@law.byu.edu to set up an account with more advanced features.

Clio

Clio logo

Clio is a practice management software. The BYU Community Clinic and many legal aid providers and small and medium firms use Clio. 

Clio provides free student access to the platform.

Lit Suite

LIT SUITE logo

We have several free licenses to Lit Suite, which is a suite of apps for litigation including TrialPad, an app for presenting documents and evidence at trial. It requires a Mac or an iPad.

We have several free licenses available for students who would like to try out this software. We also have iPads in the library you can use if you'd like to try out the software. Please contact Nick Hafen for details.

DISCO

DISCO is an eDiscovery platform. Contact nick.hafen@law.byu.edu to request access to the Law School's training instance. DISCO provides training and certifications through DISCO University.
