Immigration judges are administrative law judges who adjudicate exclusion, deportation and removal cases. These judges work in the Executive Office of Immigration Review (EOIR) and are overseen by the U.S. Attorney General. The rules governing an attorney's practice and procedure in an immigration court are outlined in 8 C.F.R. pt. 1003. The EOIR has also created an Immigration Court Practice Manual that is very helpful for those appearing before an immigration judge.
